It ain't Lionel Richie and it certainly ain't Adele.

'Hello' is the brand new single from Hull's weird-pop solo musician My Pleasure, and it's streaming now.

The track is taken from the brand new EP 'Party Popper' (out 12 Aug), which we're giving away for FREE on CD (plus P&P), while stocks last. It comes in a nice digipak with full artwork, an' all.

A FREE digital compilation of music by artists straight outta Hull, the new UK City of Culture, is out now. Released for Independent Label Week 2015, which takes place from 9th-15th November.
This release is also available as a physical CD, with a design inspired by the near-extinct White and Yellow Pages.

Free download on Bandcamp:

CD available via BigCartel:

Named after the city's dialling code, 01482 collects the very best of Hull label The Adult Teeth Recording Company's recent output, with two tracks by each act on offer.

The compilation features alternative four-piece Foolish Atoms, who are releasing their third album 'Earth and Ash' on 9th November; post-punk five-piece La Bete Blooms (currently out on a UK tour in support of their cassette double-A side singles 'Summer / Nothing Left But The Taste'); weird-pop solo musician My Pleasure, a favourite of BBC 6 Music after the release of his singles collection 'Your House Is Made of Nothing and You Are No One' earlier this year; James Wood, the experimental multi-instrumentalist who conjures up thoughts of John Cale, Four Tet, Eric Dolphy, Neutral Milk Hotel and Ivor Cutler; and Matthew Hedley Stoppard & The Glass Delusion, with tracks from their live cassette displaying their unusual mix of spoken word and art-rock music, which were well-received by BBC 6 Music on release.

Imagine if we told you that we're releasing not one, not three, but TWO exclusive, limited edition cassettes for Cassette Store Day 2015?

Well there's no need to imagine because this news is REAL and HAPPENING. A pair of one-offs both to be released on October 17th, with tracks from both streaming now.

First up is La Bete Blooms' latest standalone release - two brand new singles by the Hull post-punk five-piece, the first of which is streaming right here, just below this sentence.

Pre-orders open now: La Bete Blooms - Summer / Nothing Left But The Taste

The second release is a live album on blue cassette featuring spoken word and music by Matthew Hedley Stoppard & The Glass Delusion, recorded in April 2015 in a converted chapel in Leeds, UK. Wow, long sentence! But all the information is there, and that's what's important.

Entitled 'Runt County: Live at Chapel FM', the release contains live renditions of selected tracks from their 2014 studio album, Runt County (featured on BBC 6 Music), with added mistakes, accidental live improvisations and forgotten lyrics at no added cost.

Also featured is a unique spoken-word cover of Taylor Swift's modern classic, Blank Space. That's right, the group beat Ryan Adams to the punch. That's streaming below, dive in.

Someone or something called Mad Mackerel said this about Runt County: "It comes across like the bastard lovechild of Gil Scott Heron and The Fall, and sounds just as good as you would imagine."

There's a lot going on at Adult Teeth. Here's a roundup of the latest.

My Pleasure

The debut release by the weird-pop musician My Pleasure is a collection of 10 singles called 'Your House is Made of Nothing and You Are No One', and it's out now.

Some of the singles were played on BBC 6 Music and Radio 2, and others haven't been granted their own individual release yet, so this is your first opportunity to hear them before your irritating hipster friend does.

You know, the one who has his finger on the pulse and reckons he discovered Alt-J before everyone else, but really he's only heard a couple of singles off the 2nd album.

Anyway, you can say "screw that guy" and hear every track recorded by My Pleasure so far, in one release, RIGHT NOW.

Order: My Pleasure : Your House is Made of Nothing and You Are No One

And, for an extra couple of quid you can get a cool badge and limited edition patch bundled in with your order. Yowsers!

Here's a video made (almost) entirely out of Lego for My Pleasure's recent single, Haunted House.

James Wood

The newest signing to Adult Teeth is the marvellously multi-talented multi-instrumentalist James Wood, who lives in Huddersfield but is originally from Hull.

If he were a cow, you could say he puts the 'udders' in 'Huddersfield'. But he is not a cow, he is a man.

James' new album is called 'Eyes Down' and is a mind-boggling mix of experimentation, jazz, spoken word, soul and electronica, with a recurring motif surrounding Palestinian rights. It will be released on Monday 10th August. Fans of Four Tet, David Shrigley and John Cage will find a lot to enjoy here.

Listen to 'Can We Talk', the first single to be taken from the record here, and you can pre-order the album via the link that follows it.

La Bete Blooms

The Hull-based post-punk quintet have literally just bloody released an EP, which was amazing, you'll remember.

But they're not ones to rest on their laurels (seriously, I know some people who rest on their laurels and they're proper HARD WORK to be around). So they're BACK with a new single, called 'Nothing Left But The Taste'.

And I bet if you listen to 'Nothing Left But The Taste' right now, you will soon have 'Nothing Left But The Taste'.........of how awesome it is. [LAUGHTER] [APPLAUSE] [STANDING OVATION]

But seriously folks, the track is streaming now, and will appear on a double-A side cassette along with live favourite 'Summer' in October for Cassette Store Day 2015.

And guess what? You can pre-order it now if you like. That way you can be sure you'll receive a copy of the limited edition cassette on release day, while everyone else is queuing up at their local cassette store hoping they can get their mitts on a copy. The big idiots!

Pre-order: La Bete Blooms : Nothing Left But The Taste / Summer cassette

Right, seeing as you've got all the way to the bottom, I'll let you in on a secret. Remember how when you played Aladdin on the Super Nintendo and you were the only one who knew that if you pressed AABBAABB in that order, you'd skip to the next level? Well this is sort of like that.

Let's say you order the aforementioned musical delights separately after they're released - you'd have to pay for shipping THREE TIMES.

But if you order them all together right now from our Bigcartel shop, you'll receive three separate packages in the post stuffed with musical goodness, BUUUUT your shipping costs will be COMBINED, saving you ££££s (or $$$$s or whatever)! That's right! We swallow most of the cost of shipping to you because you are an honourable and loyal fan of music.

Cheat the system now at: our store!
